UAESwitch shows 2.71% rise in number of transactions

The UAE Central Bank  has announced that the statistics of the UAESWITCH for the second half of 2012 have shown an increase in number and value of financial transactions carried out electronically through the UAESWITCH.

The total number of financial transactions has increased to 40.130 million in the said half, compared to 39.071 million transactions in the first half of 2012, an increase of 2.71 per cent.

Also, the total value of financial transactions increased to Dh45.397 billion in the second half of 2012, compared to Dh45.533 billion in the first half of 2012, an increase of 4.28 per cent.

As for the total number and value of financial transactions carried out through connection of the UAESWITCH to the GCC switches, the total number of such financial transactions increased to 2.11 million transactions in the second half of 2012, compared to 2.09 million transactions in the first half of 2012, an increase of 0.95 per cent.

The total value of the financial transactions decreased to Dh2.839 billion in the second half of 2012, compared to Dh1.841 billion in the first half of 2012, a decrease of 0.07 per cent.
