Facebook messenger comes to Windows phone

We got to know at the Mobile World Congress that Facebook Messenger would soon be coming to Window Phone. Much earlier - during the Build 2013 in San Francisco - we were told that prominent news reading app Flipboard too would hit the Windows phone store.

While the latter is yet to become a reality, Facebook messenger has finally arrived but is yet to hit the UAE store.

Microsoft has just announced that the Messenger for Facebook can now be downloaded here.

The new messenger apart from facilitating private or group chat will also allow users to share location. It will link the Facebook friends to the People Tab.

Meanwhile, the wait for Flipboard continues. While the news reading app surfaced on Windows 8.1, phone users it appears will have to continue to wait. Many Flipboard look alike apps have also surfaced on the app store.
