The Russian Housing Development Fund announced on Saturday that it will auction off the "Lipki-Alexeyevsky" dacha of Joseph Stalin in the Metitsa urban district of Russia on November 3, 2023.
According to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, the auction will start at a price of 403.49 million rubles (or $4.18 million). The winner of the auction will be required to carry out conservation work on the property and comply with the requirements for its use in accordance with the law.
The property includes the lease of 38.4 hectares of land and the sale of real estate with a total area of 3.8 thousand square meters.
This historic site was built in the 19th century and was owned by the mayor of Moscow, Alexander Alexeyev.
Joseph Stalin moved into the dacha in 1932 after the death of his wife. He lived there for two years, then moved to another dacha.
In 1989, a children's rehabilitation center was established in the complex, after which the building was closed for renovation in 2004 and transferred to the administration of the Housing Development Fund.
