An employee at an Abu Dhabi government department is standing trial on charges of stealing nearly Dh3.6 million by selling animal products without permission.
The unnamed employee denied the charges, saying the funds are owed by traders who deal with the department.
Two dealers are also standing trial on charges of buying products from the defendant without authorisation, according to the Arabic language daily 'Al Khaleej'.
It said the judge on Sunday adjourned hearings to February 1 to summon the two other defendants.
