Couple run over by car in Sharjah on Sunday

An Indian man and his wife were seriously injured when they were run over by a speeding Toyota Camry car driven a 20-year-old Arab youth on Union Street in Sharjah at around 5pm on Sunday.

The couple was standing on the pavement waiting to cross the road when the saloon car hit them. The husband’s left leg was broken while his wife suffered head injuries and multiple fractures.

The couple was first taken to Kuwait Hospital in Sharjah. The wife was later shifted to Al Qasimi Hospital’s intensive care unit.
