Bus driver arrested for assaulting pilgrims

A Saudi bus driver caught on camera assaulting Moslem pilgrims in the Western town of Makkah has been arrested by the police, newspapers reported on Thursday.

Police launched a manhunt for the driver after a YouTube film showing him verbally abusing and assaulting pilgrims went viral on social networks.

“Police managed to identify the driver and arrest him…he is a Saudi national in his 50s and is to be prosecuted,” Ajel daily said, quoting Colonel Ziad Al Rugaiti, police spokesman in the Eastern province.
