Cops on drug raid find man raping girl

Colombo - A police team which went on a drug raid to a house in Ruvingama in Hungama, on a tip-off that ganja was being sold there, apprehended a person raping an underage girl in the same house, ‘Lanka Hot News’ reported.

Hungama police said they launched a secret operation to raid the house after they were tipped-off that ganja was being sold there and when they surrounded the house, they found one of the suspects raping the girl.

Another suspect was on guard and police said the victim was aged 15. They did not find any ganja in the house.

The victim has been hospitalised while the suspects were due to be produced before Angunakolapelessa magistrate court.

Investigations continue.
