1.5kg heroin found hidden in shoes

Two Asians were arrested by Abu Dhabi Police for possessing about 1.5kg of heroin.

The narcotic substance was found concealed in cavities in shoes.

Colonel Sultan Al Darmaki, head of anti-narcotics department, said the suspects were caught in Al Shahama City when they got down from a taxi coming from another emirate.

Al Darmaki said police had received secret information that the two men possessed heroin intended for sale.

The arrested people were AU, 44, and NM, 24.

NM was carrying a shoe in a plastic bag and tried to flee from the place at the time of his arrest but was caught.
