Abu Dhabi Police arrested three senior employees at a government department, including its director, on charges of planting spy cameras in the section assigned for women’s services, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.
The three were taken to the prosecutor before appearing in court, where the judge rejected a plea to release them on bail.
The Dubai-based Arabic language daily said the three include the department’s director, the head of its branch and another senior employee.
“They were arrested yesterday after they were found to have planted spy cameras in the rooms assigned for women’s services at a department’s branch,” the paper said.
It quoted court sources as saying hearings were adjourned to January 14 but it gave no further details.
