Three Asians employees at Dubai Police attempted to steal two used tyres from a mechanical workshop of the police, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

54-year-old Iranian corporal Yousuf Mousa testified that on December 3, 2012 and while was at the workshop at around midnight, he saw that the three accused --MRA, 25, Bangladeshi worker,  and SRK, 34, foreman and MFH, 23, driver, both Pakistanis -- were hiding two tyres in a bus.

“When questioned about the tyres, they confessed to their intention to steal them.  So the three were arrested,” he testified.

Corporal Salahuddin Abdulqader, 56, Sudanese, testified that he was informed about a theft attempt at the police workshop.

“The informer said the three attempted to steal two tyres on the request of the second who was assigned to drive the bus,” he testified.

The court will reconvene on March 19.
