4 accused of smuggling drugs into RAK jail

Four Arab men are on trial on Ras Al Khaimah on charges of smuggling heroin and other drugs to friends inside prison in the Northern Emirate.

Prison guards testified that they seized nearly 26gm of heroin in a cigarette box dumped into the waste bin inside prison and that security cameras showed the four were involved in the operation.

Police searching the house of one defendant found a large quantity of Tramadol pills, according to ‘Al Khaleej’ newspaper.
