Explaining the gang’s modus operandi, Colonel Ali Al Junaibi, Director of the Western Region Police Directorate in Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, said, “The gang stole electric power cables of around 600 metres from government installations in Liwa. Of this 550m were high-voltage cables located in the vicinity of a farmhouse, and the remaining 50m were low-voltage cables stolen from another farm.”

“Police officers launched an investigation and  zeroed in on two suspects, a 31-year old MA and 35-year old truck driver, SH. Both were arrested and investigations are under way to uncover the identity of other offenders,” Colonel Al Junaibi said.

Colonel Al Junaibi urged citizens to be vigilant and to report any violations without the slightest delay or hesitation, as this would help the police nab offenders quickly.

He added that police bodies continue to make every effort to provide maximum safety and security, to ensure citizens and residents’ well-being.
