An Asian man was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Sunday by Dubai’s Criminal Court, on charges of murder.
The man, who works as a janitor, was found guilty of killing a young woman in her apartment by stabbing her in the neck.
The accused claimed he did not mean to kill her, as reported in Arabic daily, Emarat Al Youm.
He stated that he went to his manager’s apartment in order to speak to her to settle a financial dispute; instead, he found the woman there.
After an argument at the door, he barged in and ran to the kitchen where he grabbed the knife and stabbed her.
He will be deported upon the completion of his sentence.
