Boy who tried to kill brother seeks court pardon
An Arab teenage boy who tried to kill his brother by stabbing him many times told an Abu Dhabi court he feels sorry for what he had done and asked for pardon.
The court had found the student guilty of attacking his brother with a knife and stabbing him four times while he was drunk at their house in the capital.
Their sister testified during trial on Tuesday that her stabbed brother was using that knife to cut fruit when the other brother seized it and stabbed him following an argument. The defendant’s lawyer asked court to revise the attempted murder case to take into account the defendant’s age and the fact that the injuries are not serious.
“The defendant asked court to take into consideration his age and the fact that he is a student…he said he was sorry and asked court to pardon him…he also promised not to drink alcohol again,” the Arabic language daily Alkhaleej said.
