Chef bites co-worker's ear defending waitress, jailed
A 23-year-old Lebanese chef, TA, who bit the ear of a co-worker, has been sentenced to three-month jail by the Dubai Criminal Court.
On June 13 at around 12.30am, MG, 28, Filipina waitress, was with her co-worker AO in the lift when the latter abused her saying bad words.
“I rushed to the chef and told him what AO had said to me. The chef went to AO’s room and the two started fighting,” testified the waiter.
A Chinese salesman was in the room with AO when the chef entered the room. The two started shouting at one another before starting a fistfight. I tried to separate them from one another but they were taller than me, so I could not. Suddenly I saw blood dripping form AO’s ear,” testified the salesman, HJ, 24.
Forensic report revealed that the bite caused distortion to the ear’s pinna with two per cent rate of permanent disability.
