A Nigerian transit passenger allegedly transported more than a kilo of cocaine hidden in 50 capsules wrapped around his waist, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
On December 19, EP arrived in Dubai International Airport transiting via Dubai from Brazil to Nigeria.
An officer on duty in the transit terminal suspected the passenger who looked very worried and confused.
The officer accompanied the 30-year-old passenger for inspection.
“Searching him, I noticed an abnormal swelling down his belly. So I asked him to take off his trousers. When he refused, I took him to the office of the Anti-Narcotics Department at the airport. In the office, it was found that the passenger had wrapped 50 tablets at the bottom of his belly,” testified the officer.
Police found out that the capsules contained a total of 1,180.71kg of cocaine.
