Company driver gets five years for raping manager

A Dubai court sentenced an Asian company driver to five years in prison and ordered his deportation from the UAE after he was convicted of raping his manager at her office.

The unnamed man had waited for all company staff members to leave before going into his boss’s office, claiming he wanted her to sign some papers.

The woman told police that when the driver came close to her, she felt that he was about to do something wrong.

She said that he jumped on her, tied her up with her “sari” and raped her inside her office.

“The defendant told court that he had an affair with his boss and that he had sex with her many times with her consent,” Alkhaleej daily said.

It said the court also ordered the defendant to pay Dh21,000 in damages to the manager, whom it did not identify.
