Cop accused of raping teen Internet friend

A Dubai police corporal allegedly raped in his car a 13 year old girl whom he had met and befriended on the Internet.

The policeman AM, 23, met RA, school girl, on the Internet in early 2013. The two started chatting on the Messenger. The girl met AM two times before the incident.

HJ, 41, the girl’s aunt noticed her niece was sad when she visited her sister’s house in Al Barsha “My niece who is my brother’s daughter was on a visit to my sister’s family. When I noticed that she looked very sad, I asked her about the reason. She told me about her relationship with AM and she also told me how he had raped her when she went out with him late at night in Ramadan,” the girl’s aunt told investigators.

“She told me that she had gone out with him two times before and he had raped her when they met for the third time. He picked her up from my sister’s house at around 2am and he drove her to an isolated area. He asked her to sit on the back seat of his car before sodomising her,” the aunt told investigators.

 The two kissed before moving to the back seat and having sex, the girl told investigators.

Then he drove her back to her aunt’s house. On the next day, she called him and asked him to propose marriage to her. RA said he is not ready for marriage because of financial difficulties.

“I repeatedly called him but he stopped answering my calls,” said the girl.  “I do not trust anyone in my family, so I informed no one. I waited until my aunt, whom I trust, returned from abroad and I told her. My aunt tried to solve the problem amicably with him but he stopped answering her calls also, so she accompanied me to a police station and lodged a complaint against him,” the girl told investigators.

Her 17-year-old cousin, MH, student, told investigators that she was aware about them dating. “She told me that she will go out for a ride with AM with whom she was having an affair for about a year. On that night, I stayed awake. As three hours had passed and she had not returned, I called him on his mobile, and talked to her asking her to return because it was already around 6am. He drove her back and dropped her in his while Lexus in front of the door. I opened the door for her and she got in. I closed the door behind her and she later told me that she had sex with AM but did not tell me the details,” MH told investigators. Her 15-year-old sister made corroborative testimony.

Forensic could not definitely report if any sexual activity had occurred or not. The accused did not appear before the court to enter a plea.

 The court will reconvene on April 29.
