Drug dealer assaults Sharjah cop

A drug dealer from another Gulf country is facing tough punishment on charges of assaulting a policeman from the counter-narcotics unit in Sharjah.

The policeman, a corporal heading a police force to arrest the dealer, suffered from bruises after he was assaulted by the defendant.

“During hearings, the prosecutor demanded tough sentence against the defendant for resisting arrest and attacking the police man,” ‘Al Bayan’ daily said.

It said the defendant has also been charged of possessing and taking heroin and other drugs in the emirate.
