Attending a conference on child abuse lead a mother to find out that one of her daughters had been molested by the building’s watchman, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
BGS, 48, father of the 10-year-old girl, testified that after attending the conference, his wife gathered her three daughters and talked to them about abuse of children. She asked them to tell her if they had been molested by anyone.
“One of the girls told her mom that once when she entered the watchman’s room for water while playing with other children, the watchman had put his hand on her shoulders and chest and had whispered in her ears words that she did not understand. At another time, he had groped and kissed her on the cheek after closing his room’s door. My wife called me and told me what our daughter told her,” BGS testified.
“As I was abroad, I asked her just to inform the building’s management. When I returned to the country two weeks later, I notified the police,” testified the father.
Police arrested the Bangladeshi watchman SDB, 23, who denied the accusation.
The court will reconvene.
