Enoc pump staff hit, robbed of Dh1,470

Two men allegedly attacked late night staff at a Enoc fuel station and robbed Rs1,740 from the wallet around his waist before fleeing in their car, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

On September 11, when MZ, 24, Sri Lankan, was on duty at the fuel station, a white Corolla car stopped and two men got off.

“They asked me to check the tyres. Although I told them that it is not my job, I did that for them. All the tyres were fine. When I finished and told them that, the two men attacked me and snatched the mobile phone in my hand but it fell on the ground. They also opened the wallet around my waist which contained about Dh6,000 and stole Dh1,470,” said the victim.

The manager reviewed the CCTV footage and saw the attack.

Police investigated the crime and arrested AM, 27, citizen of Comoros Islands.

AM admitted to the crime.

The court will give sentence on February 10.
