Expat threatened to kill compatriot over Dh1,000
A jobless Bangladeshi allegedly threatened to kill a compatriot and his family if he does not give him Dh1,000, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
The victim, AJ, 29, salesman, told police that his compatriot JM approached him in the electronics shop where he worked in Al Waheeda area and threatened to kill him and his family.
“I asked him to give me sometimes to arrange the amount. On September 29, he came again and started shouting at me and then police arrived,” testified the victim.
The victim’s co-workers heard the threat and confirmed the victim’s story.
The victim had reported the threat to the police and so they were in the area the second time the accused approached the victim and arrested him.
The Court will reconvene on January 15.
