Female dress, female Emirates ID card lands Filipino in men’s jail

He spent his life in Dubai, though it is not known for how long, as a woman. Now, he will spend three months in the men’s section of a jail in Dubai.

A Filipino who dressed like a woman and showed a female Emirates ID card to the police was jailed for three months on Tuesday.

The accused found the card in a taxi and used it as his own, living in the emirate as a woman, in female attire, until he was arrested on January 4.

Emirati policeman HK, 21, testified that while on patrol at around 3am, he spotted two suspicious persons sitting in a car for a long period of time.

He asked they identify themselves. “The driver showed me his ID. Meanwhile, the man sitting next to him — whom I thought was a woman — presented me with an ID and identified himself as a woman named JJ.”

After noticing the picture looked different, HK repeatedly asked him about his real identity, but MO insisted he was a woman.

“I asked him to come with me to the Bur Dubai police station.

“Even at the station, MO insisted he was a woman,” the policeman testified.
