Fleeing robber throws Dh100,000 in street
Two men allegedly kicked a pedestrian and robbed Dh100,000 from him before running away in Bani Yas area, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
On October 28, at around 11am, MA, 31, Bangladeshi salesman, was walking to deposit Dh100,000 in his employer’s bank account.
“Suddenly, an African kicked my leg several times before running away. Searching my pocket, I did not find the money. I ran after him screaming for help. Pedestrians succeeded in catching the man,” he said,
Police arrived and arrested KN, 23.
KN admitted to robbing the victim with the help his compatriot ZK.
“I kicked the pedestrian and ZK robbed him,” he told the police.
Police suspected an African in Naif area whose description matched with the accomplice in this crime.
KN recognised his accomplice ZK, 39.
ZK admitted to joining KN in the robbery and claimed that while pedestrians were running after him, he threw the money in the street.
The court will reconvene on February 21.
