Four Asians have been jailed by a criminal court for three years on charges of kidnapping and theft.
After completion of three years jail the convicts will be deported.
The convicts with other fugitive kidnapped a Bangladeshi and stole his belongings over financial dispute. The accused also pretended to be CID officials.
Three Bangladeshi identified as OFS, 24, carpenter, RKS, 25, jobless, JAS, 23, worker and a Pakistani MAH, 31, entered a labour accommodation in Al Muhaisna area on August 11 and stole Dh13,860 kept in the wardrobe and kidnapped everyone present in the room over financial dispute.
The victim Mohammed Sohil, 28, Bangladeshi worker testified that he was with his friends, Rybil Was and Mahboob Alam.
Between eight to ten people entered the room and one of them showed a card claiming to be a CID staff.
“They searched the room and took my Dh13,860. They assaulted us and dragged us to a car parked outside. They took us to an old house in Sharjah. The one who claimed to be a CID told us that he will deport us."
"I told him I hold a valid labour card, so he let me and Mahboob leave but asked us to bring Dh2,000. As we went to Mahboob’s room and informed the police,” Sohil testified.
Police laid a plan to trap the accused and asked Sohil and Mahboob to contact the accused and agree to pay them the amount.
On their way to hand over the amount, they received a call from Rybil telling them that he was freed.
Rybil guided the police to the location of a room in a garage in the industrial area in Sharjah.
A driver and his two associates have been jailed for kidnapping two victims and leaving them in the desert after assaulting them and stealing their money.
The Dubai Court of First Instance sentenced 29-year-old Bangladeshi driver, GM, to five years in jail.
GM's two compatriot associates, 28-year-old dyer, ZK, and 44-year-old worker, NK, are sentenced to three years in jail.
