Fugitive buys fake ID card for Dh200

Dubai Public Prosecution has referred a Bangladeshi national, aged 27, to the Dubai Criminal Court on charges that he used a fake identity card as his own.

Prosecutors also charged the defendant with using an official document on behalf of someone else.

The accused said in the police report that he was a fugitive from his sponsor and purchased the identity card from a Pakistani for Dh200.

He took advantage of the great similarities between him and the owner's identity, he said.

He added that he successfully used the card on many occasions, but was finally caught by the police.
