Gang of Asian thieves busted by UAE Police

UAE police have arrested a six-member gang specializing in theft of electric cables.

The gang, which included illegal residents, committed thefts in Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah.

Colonel Ahmed Saif Al Muhairi of Abu Dhabi Police said: "The police received information about a theft of cables in Abu Dhabi. Preliminary investigation indicated existence of a specialised gang.”

After their arrest, police recovered cables worth Dh100,000 from the gang.

Colonel Al Muhairi said members of the gang, whose ages range from 25 to 29, have confessed to the crime.
