He didn't 'know' he had 55kg heroin

An Asian truck driver held with nearly 55kg of heroin in Ras Al Khaimah told police he thought he was transporting white cement not drugs.

Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted the vehicle and arrested the man after finding the drug hidden inside bags.

“He later insisted in court that he did not know he was transporting drugs. He said that an unknown man asked him to transport some bags of white cement to another man in another emirate,” the Arabic language daily Al Ittihad said.
