House lease contract forged to obtain visa

An Ethiopian national is on trial in Dubai, accused of forging a house lease contract to obtain a residence visa for his wife.

NH, 26, submitted a house lease contract ratified by Sharjah Municipality to the Department of Residency and Foreigners Affairs along with his visa application.

The department employee had doubts about the house lease contract and checked with Sharjah Municipality which confirmed that it had not ratified the contract.

The employee then asked the defendant to bring electricity and water bills but that the defendant did not come.

The department then contacted the guarantor of the accused and asked them to come together. Police arrested the suspect when he arrived.
