Illegal lane change: Biker dead, bike in flames

An accident between a salon car and a motorbike on the Al Dhaid Road in Sharjah has left one man dead and another severely injured.

The deceased was identified as  30-year-old Bangladeshi, YS,  while the driver of the car, an Emirati, is in hospital with severe injuries.

The motorbike, being driven by the Bangladeshi, had no licence plate and suddenly changed lanes, colliding with the car.

According to the police, the impact of the collision was so powerful that it immediately killed the Bangladeshi and even caused a fire which destroyed the motorbike.

The front of the car was also badly damaged.

The Sharjah Police operations room received a call about the accident at 10.30pm on Tuesday, June 2, after which ambulances and police were sent to the spot.
