Indecent assault of minor fetches 1 year jail

The Dubai Criminal Court on Monday sentenced FS, a 32-year-old citizen of the Republic of Comoros, to one year in prison for indecent assault of a 14-year-old girl.

Police began investigations in May last year after receiving a complaint from the victim’s mother that her daughter had disappeared.

Police traced the accused who admitted to meeting the girl in the Mall of the Emirates and taking her in his car to an apartment in Muwailih and having consensual sexual intercourse with her after she told him she was 19.

The accused confessed to police that the girl is staying with him in the apartment. Police went with the accused to the apartment where they found the girl.

The girl admitted to the police of going to the apartment with the accused and having sexual intercourse with him several times.

The Court acquitted the accused of the charge of rape but found him guilty of indecent assault of a minor.
