Maid locks up employer, flees with Dh11,000

A housemaid who detained her Emirati employer inside a room and robbed her has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Arabic dailies reported that the incident came to light when the national woman filed a complaint saying her Asian housemaid had locked her up inside a room and fled taking Dh11,000.
 
Police team pressed into action immediately and issued alerts to all airports and stations. She was nabbed before she could flee the country.
 
The Criminal Court in Fujairah has ordered she be deported after serving term.
 
 
Witchcraft practised in RAK flat
 
Four Arab women in Ras Al Khaimah are accused of practising witchcraft and sorcery in Ras Al Khaimah.
 
Upon receiving reliable information from an Arab woman, the CID team of Ras Al Khaimah raided the flat I Al Nakheel area, reported Arabic dailies.
 
The women were caught red-handed while attempting to victimise an Emirati man.
 
Several substances including solutions, detergents and herbs were confiscated from the apartment.
 
The four women have been transferred to Public Prosecution.
