A Bangladeshi man murdered two work mates in Ras Al Khaimah while they were asleep in their rooms following a dispute involving just Dh300.
A Bangladeshi witness who works in the same company testified in court that he saw the killer, identified as Haroun Al Rasheed, stabbing the two at night.
When the prosecutor asked the witness to point to the accused, he found that another defendant facing burglary charges was brought to court as he has the same name.
Newspapers said the judge decided to adjourn hearings to ensure the killer is present in court and to listen to the defence lawyer.
The witness said he saw the killer holding a knife and stabbing one Bangladeshi colleague while he was asleep. After the victim was dead, the killer ran to the other room and stabbed the second work mate, who first resisted before falling dead.
