Man on trial for stealing Dh70 in RAK
An Arab man is standing trial in Ras Al Khaimah on charges of stealing Dh70 from a charity donation box at a supermarket, a newspaper said on Wednesday.
Police arrested the man after he was caught on camera smashing the box and taking the money, most of which were coins, Al Khaleej said.
An Asian cleaner at the supermarket saw the Arab burgling the box and reported him to the police, who examined the security camera and identified the thief, it said, adding that the man is to be sentenced at the next court session.
Headless body found near Saudi blocks factory
An Asian worker was found dead without a head at a blocks factory in Saudi Arabia and police said they believe his head was severed accidentally by a machine at work.
The unidentified man was found lying in a pool of blood while his head was off his body at the small factory in the northwestern town of Tabuk.
“Police said it was clear the worker was alone in the factory when he was accidentally hit by the machine, causing his head to be severed,” Okaz daily said.
