Man on trial in Dubai for kissing woman by force

An elderly man allegedly tried to kiss a young woman after luring her into his house, the Dubai Courts heard.

MM, 62, came to the house where YA, 25, Iranian, lived to hand over a gift to her grandfather.

“I took the gift which he asked me to hand over to my grandfather. Then he asked me to accompany him to his house to meet his daughters who are of my age…

“As he was an old man, I did not suspect his intentions. When we reached his house, no one was there and he told me that his daughter had gone shopping and will be back in a little while. Then he asked me to take me a look at the flat. When we reached one of the rooms, he held me by my neck and aggressively kissed my cheek and neck. I resisted him and ran out of the house,” YA told prosecutors.

The victim called her sister who was in college. When she returned home, she saw redness and scratches on her sister’s neck. The victim lodged a complaint with the police and Corporal KA testified seeing redness and scratches on the victim’s neck which were also reported by Forensics.

The Court will reconvene on February 26.
