Man robs many Sharjah residents using toy gun

Sharjah Police have arrested a Pakistani who robbed a number of people in the emirate using a plastic toy gun which he had bought from a toy shop.

Police said the accused, known as Master PT, had committed robbery in different areas of the emirate, stealing cash and other valuable items from people. Sometimes he attacked victims in the car or people walking on the street and talking to phone.

After buying the black-colour toy gun, the man used to approach the target and threatened victim to hand over mobile phone and money he has. In some cases the accused chased them also and when the victim entered a narrow street he threatened him with the gun to hand over cash, mobile phones and other valuables.

The Criminal Investigation Department of Sharjah Police suspected a Pakistani as it matched his description and features given by the victims.

Police arrested the accused and found five mobile phones in his custody during the search. The victims identified the accused during the parade.

The defendant confessed committing robberies with black pistol which he bought from one of the shops that sells toys.

The case has been transferred to the public prosecution in Sharjah.

Sharjah Police asked public to take precautions and not leave money and jewellery inside the cars and avoid walking in dark alleys. It urged public to inform about the presence of a suspicious stranger or intruder in the residential areas.
