A man who slit the throat of his 50-year-old mother “on God’s orders” will undergo medical examination at the request of a court in Sharjah to decide whether he is mentally fit, newspapers reported on Thursday.
The judge involved in the case ordered the defendant to have a second medical test to make sure he is not suffering from psychological disorders after he used a large kitchen knife to slaughter his mother, a holder of Danish citizenship.
The man had told court he had done so “on God’s orders” because his mother was involved in black art. A committee from Sharjah forensic division found the killer mentally fit but recommended further tests at hospital.
Court cases showed that the unnamed defendant slit his mother’s throat at their Sharjah apartment and left her body for nearly 10 days before neighbors reported him.
