A Chinese man allegedly asked a compatriot to pose as him and appear for a medical fitness test, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

On October 8, YZ , 28, Chinese manager, along with an unidentified compatriot, approached a medical health fitness centre and presented an application in the name of WZ, 19,  and his picture, claiming that the Chinese who did not carry an ID card was the one whose details were on the application.

The staff at the centre’s laboratory noticed the difference between person appearing for the medical test and the one whose picture was on the application, testified a security officer at the centre.

Checking the records, it was found out that WL had appeared for a medical test three months earlier and had been proved unfit.

The medical centre’s staff confronted the two Chinese men and asked them to ask the real WL to approach the centre.

WL did that on October 20. The centre took a sample of his blood which proved that he was medically unfit.

The centre reported the incident to Al Qusais police station who arrested the manager and his unfit compatriot.

The manager admitted that he helped WL to get a fitness certificate by handing over the application to the unidentified compatriot.

Dubai Prosecution asked the court to give the stiffest penalty against the accused and supplied the court with the confession and the two medical certificates which reported unfitness of WL.

The court will reconvene on February 21.
