RAK cop smuggled mobile to prisoner
A court in Ras Al Khaimah sentenced an Arab police woman to three months in prison and fined her Dh2,000 after she was found guilty of smuggling a mobile phone to another woman in detention, newspapers reported on Tuesday.
The defendant was caught trying to give the phone to that woman at her request so she would talk to her family.
The defendant confessed that she agreed to bring the mobile phone to the woman in return for Dh2,000, the papers said.
“She was found guilty of getting bribe and trying to smuggle a mobile phone to a woman in detention,” the Arabic language daily 'Al Khaleej' said.
