Resident raped stepdaughter for 3 years

An Arab man in Abu Dhabi raped his teenaged stepdaughter for three years before his wife reported him to the police. On Wednesday, he was sentenced to 10 years in jail.
 
The wife found out about the rape when her daughter returned home at dawn and looked tired and pale. When she was pressed by her mother about what happened, she told her that her stepfather drove her to the desert and raped her while he was drunk.
 
“She also told her mother that her stepfather had raped her for nearly three years and that she could not tell her because he was threatening her,” Emarat Alyoum daily said.
 
The Abu Dhabi criminal court on Wednesday sentenced the defendant to 10 years in prison and ordered him lashed 80 times for having alcohol.

He was also fined Dh10,000 for reckless driving.
