Rumors of child murders are false: Dubai Police

Dubai police angrily reacted to social network reports that gangs are hunting Emiratis in the emirate to kill them for their organs, warning that those who are responsible for spreading such rumors would be hunted down.

Police said they were reacting to rumors on social networks and blackberry mobile phones that three Emirati men who volunteered to take three lost children to their families were killed by residents of houses presumed to belong to those kids.

The rumors said that gangs were killing Emiratis for their organs and were also raping  local children before murdering them in other emirates.

“These rumors are mere lies and have no basis….those who are behind these rumors will be hunted down and prosecuted,” said Major General Khalil Al Mansouri, assistant police commander for criminal investigation.

“These are ugly rumors intended to create havoc and fear in the UAE….as we all know and see, the UAE has always been a safe haven and such fables about crimes and organs theft exist only in the sick minds of those who have spread them.”
