Police raided the French man’s flat and arrested him where they found the money he had extorted from victims
A policeman man in Sharjah has been accused of extorting Dh2,000 from a Pakistani man by seizing his passport and demanding the sum.
Security men in the emirate arrested the cop after receiving the money from the Pakistani at a deserted place set by the defendant.
A lieutenant who headed a police unit to arrest the defendant told court the Pakistani man signed papers and got his passport after paying the sum to the policeman.
Newspapers said the judge at a criminal court in the emirate decided on Wednesday to issue sentence against the defendant on Jan 4.
