A Bangladeshi tailor, ND, is accused of stealing Dh150,000 from his employer’s shop before fleeing the UAE.

Before leaving the country, he gave Dh50,000 to RI, 27, a compatriot, asking him to take the money to Bangladesh and give it to his family.

RI took Dh3,000 from the amount and asked another person to transfer the money to Bangladesh as he was scared of carrying such a large sum through the airport.

The employer LB, 45, Pakistani, notified the police that someone had broken into his shop and that Dh115,000 kept in the drawer of his desk and Dh35,000 kept in the cash box were missing.

Police found out that ND had already left the UAE.

RI admitted receiving Dh50,000 from the accused before he fled the UAE and being asked to send the amount to him. Since RI was also planning to leave the country,  he handed over the major portion of the money to a third person asking him to remit it to him after he reached Bangladesh.

The Court will issue its sentence on February 4.
