A Bangladeshi tailor allegedly stole Dh44,000 from the home of a Chinese masseur, while he was approaching her looking for a job at the centre, the Dubai Criminal Court heard. The victim ZS, 39, testified that accused approached her three times asking for a job in the centre.

“The first time he approached me at the centre I asked him to wait until the owner of the centre was in. Two days later he came and asked me again.
“I left the reception area to go to the toilet on the first floor. Five minutes later I returned but did not see him and was shocked to see the drawer broken and Dh8,000 missing.

“I called the owner and told him about the matter and then notified the police. I then went home and shocked to find my luggage bag which contained Dh36,000, jewellery and three air-tickets missing,” she testified.

“At one of the three times he approached me, he insisted on accompanying me home to help me carry some papers, so he knew the location of my house and robbed me after stealing the key,” she alleged.

The accused confessed to stealing and the court will issue its verdict on March 19.
