Technician gropes maid after repair work

An Etisalat technician, who groped a Filipina maid after repairing a break down in her employer’s house, was sentenced to three months in jail.

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance also ordered MW, 32, Bangladeshi, to be deported after serving his jail term.

On December 3, MW was assigned to repair a breakdown in a house.

AM, 26, Filipina maid, accompanied the technician to the first floor and showed him where the break down had happened.

“While I was guiding him to where the failure was, he touched my lower back… I thought it was by accident so I did not shout at him,” said the maid.

When he was about to leave, MW came close to the maid and showed her employer’s phone number on his mobile.

“While he was showing me the number on his mobile, he groped my breast with his right index finger. I shouted at him but that did not prevent him from repeating the act with his left finger,” said the victim.

Police arrested MW and the maid recognised him when shown to her via identification parade.
