An Emirati allegedly stole a motorbike, took it and hid it in his cousin’s house, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

According to the records, MA, 21, student and his compatriot, MS, 19, fugitive, entered the villa of OS, and broke the chain with which the latter’s motorbike was tied with in the garage.

At around 7.30am on December 10, OS, 21, Emirati, student, noticed that his motorbike was not in the garage.

“I had parked my orange Yamaha motorbike chained and locked to the post of the garage. I looked around and found that the gate was open and there were traces of the bike outside the house,” OS told the police.

While police were searching for the motorbike, they received information about it being in a house in Nad Al Hammar.

“We were told by a resident of the house that a bike is in his house and that he does not know how and why it was in his house,” a policeman told investigators.

Police confiscated the motorbike to take the necessary procedures.

"An hour later, MA, came to Al Rashidiya police station and claimed that the motorbike was his. Asking him about its ownership documents he claimed that he did not have them. Asking him different questions related to the ownership of the bike, MA finally admitted that he had stolen it with the assistance of MS from the house of OS,” said the policeman.

“We could open the house’s gate, and then broke the chain and the lock of the bike… we moved it out and then transported it via the car of MS to my cousin’s house where we kept it,” MA said admitting to the theft.

MS is reported as a fugitive.

The court will reconvene on May 7 on the case.
