Sharjah Police have arrested two Arabs on charges of stealing a car from a woman who had placed an advertisement in an English newspaper and attained power of attorney to sell it on behalf of her friend.

The police said the two have a criminal record and were earlier deported from the UAE.

The lady said she received a call from the two as potential buyers of the Porsche Cayenne she had advertised to sell.

The victim gave them her address, and the two suspects asked her for a test drive of the car to check it before buying. As soon as the woman gave them the key, the suspects got in and drove away.

The woman then reported the case to police, who formed an investigative team to search for the car.

Sharjah Police sources say the investigation led to arrest one of the two accused, identified as (A-A-A) from an Arab nationality who has criminal record and lives the Emirate of Ajman and was deported from the UAE but he was able infiltrate to the country.

He admitted stealing the car with the assistance of another person. The accused then led the police to a place in Al Ain where they’d hidden the stolen car, and the police arrested the second accused who too has a criminal record and was deported from the UAE.
