Three Chinese allegedly broke into the house of a compatriot and stole Dh276,000 from his bedroom, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The victim KL, 50, told police that he shares his one-bedroom-hall flat with two of his workers. He said he kept revenues of his two shops in his bedroom drawer and that he locked both the drawer and the bedroom.

“On April 28, 2009, at around 8pm, I got a call from one of the workers informing me that the house had been robbed. Doors of the flat and the bedroom had been broken. The drawer’s lock had also been broken and money and an expensive perfume had been taken,” he testified.

Going by the modus operandi, police arrested YT, 32, visitor, KL, 27, salesman, and ZW, 52, supervisor, who confessed to a number of thefts including that of this flat.

The court adjourned the case to February 21.
