Three Arab men allegedly entered the house of four Ethiopian women, robbed them and had sex with them at knife-point, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

One of the victims, AIB, 24, who holds a baby sitter’s residence visa, testified that while she was with her compatriots in their flat in a building on Al Rola Street in Al Rifaa area, they heard someone ringing the door bell.

“STJ opened the door and three men got in. They were holding knifes and asked us to hand over our mobile phones and money. We did that as we were scared. However, we refused when they demanded sex. But my friends were forced to yield under threat. After they finished, they gathered us in a room and locked the door. We opened the door with a spare key and I could note down the car’s number before they could flee. Then we informed the police,” she testified.

Her housemates --LSN, 24, KAJ, 23, and STJ, 28, who all hold maid’s residency visas -- repeated the same testimony.

Second Lieutenant Ali Abdul Kareem testified that police arrested the accused two hours after receiving the complaint. By circulating the car’s number, the three accused were identified as SMN, 27, technician, AMK, 26, student, both Sudanese and KSF, 20, Emirati football player.

“The accused were arrested in Al Qussais area and were referred to Al Rifaa police station.  The three accused claimed that they met two of the women in Khalid bin Walid Street and agreed to have sex with them for money.

“The women took a taxi and the three men followed them with their car to their building. The accused claimed that they had a dispute with the women after they had sex with them. The accused said they locked the door after taking their money, a bag and the key and buried them in a sandy area in Al Qusais,” testified Second Lieutenant Ali Abdul Kareem.

The accused accompanied the policemen to the area where they had buried the bag. Police found a key in it but they did not find the mobile phones of the victims that the accused claimed they had buried along with the bag.

Police confiscated from the accused the money that they had robbed from the victims. The four victims identified the three accused when shown at an identification parade.

The accused confessed to robbing the women but denied threatening them with any weapon to have sex with them.

The four victims are also facing charges of fleeing their sponsors and practicing prostitution.
