The Ras Al Khaimah Criminal Court has sentenced a woman from an Arab country to three months in prison after she was found guilty of extorting money from an Emirati man, the Arabic newspaper ‘Al Bayan’ has reported.
The accused was convicted of blackmailing the Emirati man and demanding money from him in return for handing over images for him in an indecent situation.
The case started when the victim received a call from the woman demanding money in return of the indecent photos.
The victim informed the police who asked him to accept the woman’s demand and trapped her.
The victim informed the public prosecution that he has never involved in any illicit relationship and that the woman claimed that she had images of him in indecent places.
He added that he had advised the woman not to blackmail but she had called again, forcing him to inform the police.
He added police had asked him to set a date for handing over the demanded money and the woman was caught red-handed while receiving the money.
